Welcome to NeuroScene, where we explore the future of neuroscience…
I’ve always had a fascination with all things related to the brain and the mind. Perhaps this was a holdover from my days as a psychology major at the University of Illinois. But whatever the influence, my interest (obsession?) in neuroscience has persisted throughout my entire life.
Then along came 2006, and there was this new thing out called podcasting that caught my attention. So I immersed myself in the local podcasting community, met a bunch of really innovative people who were kind enough to show me the ropes, and learned how to actually produce and publish an Internet radio show.
That was the beginning of NeuroScene – a globally syndicated neuroscience podcast show featuring in-depth interviews with some of the world’s premier researchers and scientists.
NeuroScene ran from 2006 through 2011, during which time I produced over 40 science conversation shows on a variety of topics. At its peak, NeuroScene had a worldwide audience of over 150,000 regular listeners and subscribers.
But I never really paid much attention to these metrics, nor was I ever concerned about the podcast’s growth or success. All that mattered to me at the time was interacting with all these amazing individuals who had dedicated their lives to areas that I found personally fascinating.
So that’s the story of NeuroScene. You can check out all of the shows below, but I’ve posted some of my personal favorites in the Portfolio.
I hope you enjoy listening to these as much as I enjoyed creating them!
